Black, White & Shimmery

Two birds with primarily #BlackAndWhite plumage that shows #Iridescence under strong light:

A male Bufflehead Duck flashes a green spot as he splash lands in late December.

A European Starling goes prismatic under a cloudless October sun.

This Bufflehead Duck seemed to be playing in a local pond. A European Starling commands the top spot in a tree overlooking a neighbor’s feeder. Starlings love to dive from this perch and scare smaller birds away.
