A badger in Bristol city centre! #GardenersWorld
Well ground elder was introduced by the Romans as a crop plant (it isn't strictly a UK native), so I guess we're going to need to relearn what they used it for. #GardenersWorld

Running behind with #GardenersWorld it started, my cat was listening intently to the birdsong, then the moment Monty started talking she sprang up and raced upstairs. I'm sure it's nothing personal!
How did Monty get squashes without watering them? Mine got watered through the heatwaves but I've still only got one good sized pumpkin and a few immature squash. 🤔#GardenersWorld
Bindweed will be the one that survives Armageddon. #gardenersworld
Left 2 salvia Amistad in the hot border(much added grit) and though they didn't sprout till sometime in August(I assumed they were dead), they are growing now. Not sure if there's time to flower, but they did survive. #gardenersworld
Oi, you at the back! Stop giggling at Monty rubbing his glossy aubergine! 🍆
Couch grass, stinging nettles & brambles are flourishing in my back garden this year.

I bet couch grass and bindweed turn out to be #ClimateChange tolerant plants! #GardenersWorld
We're certainly going to have to reconsider the idea that "native plants == good, imported plant == bad" as our natural native varieties are going to struggle against some of the conditions we're going to face in decades to come. We're forcing eco-system change at very high rates. #GardenersWorld
James's #ClimateChange drought tolerant gravel garden looks very colourful. Shows we have options in the years ahead. #GardenersWorld
That gravel garden is stunning #gardenersworld
Good to see Frances doing a piece on #ClimateChange #gardening this evening on #GardenersWorld. A topic that is becoming increasingly important to us as our conditions in the UK (and I assume elsewhere) change from one extreme to another.
Hoping most of my primroses survived...sure enough there are leaves sprouting from apparently dead plants. #gardenersworld
Hmmm, I planted some primroses in the spring. I wonder if they'll come back this year - they certainly didn't get a lot of water. #gardenersworld
#gardenersworld A few from this week...asters opening, heleniums flowering well and the hardy fuchsias are once again covered after dropping all bud in the drought.
Monty Don: “If in doubt, go deep.” #GardenersWorld
My robins are singing beautifully too :) #gardenersworld
