As you get older perception of time changes.
When I was a teenager vast majority of Scots were British.
Most voted Labour
#EastKilbride had its own EK District Council
We watched bands as British folk..The Clash, The Jam, The Who
Now, sadly, many Scots youth don't feel British & want independence.

It looks older -1954
In 1974 #EastKilbride was just a green & pleasant land
New hooses, front & back garden, indoor toilets, warm coal fire.
Lots of space, few cars, no plastic trash, #libraries galore,well kept roads, no broken pavements, no empty shops, few gambling joints or vape shops

SLC meets the needs of all South Lanarkshire..a huge geographical area.
EK folk need restoration of EK District Council that would focus only on needs of EK folks

Local folks in #EastKilbride have no local EK District Council /Development Corporation & they these created ⚽ pitches & green space in Westwood area of EK in 20thC

One of the best buildings in #Scotland
I remember going for a swim there when it opened in 1968.
Look at the lush green grass. A very green & pleasant land.

Working Class folk got a hoose with a front & back garden.
Indoor toilets & bath. Hot water from coal fire.
EK is just a wonderful garden of lush green grass, with loads of 🌳🌲 &space. Exact opposite of this image.
