Love shows up in the small moments as much as the big ones.

Some days the hardest part is explaining to people why you look fine but feel terrible. You're not making it up. Your symptoms are real, your fatigue is real, and you deserve support.

Starting your day positively sets the tone for everything else. What’s one morning routine you never skip? #ChronicIllness

The fatigue is brutal and my pain levels are steadily rising.

But you know what? I keep trying. I meet my body where it's at and see what it can do, even if it says today is a rest and relax day.

No matter how much I do or don't get done today, that's what matters: I persist.

Illness life: where “I’m fine” can mean “I’m doing my best to hold on.”

Do you live with Dysautonomia?
What do you want people to know about living with it?

“#ChronicIllness is unpredictable. One day you’ll be thinking, “I can handle it” then bam. The next…find yourself bed-bound as the weeks fly by, wondering if it will ever let up… Now… I give myself #compassion — I am doing my absolute best — and that is OK.” https://buff.ly/2yHONMo #ChronicPain

Tip from someone who learned the hard way: bring data to your doctor appointments. Even rough notes about when symptoms happen and what makes them better or worse can change the conversation completely.

Many people with #ChronicIllness have a long list of #medications that keep us going. #TalkAboutPrescriptions Month (who knew that was a thing?) is a great reminder of why we should be talking about them all year long.

The absolute agony when your mind doesn’t have enough energy to be conscious and process simply being alive and yet you still exist.

Fun Friday!

What brought joy into your life recently, no matter how big, small, or fleeting? Joy is the fuel that sustains and reminds us why we keep going.

Saying no to the wrong foods can mean fewer attacks, more energy, and a body that feels just a little bit safer.

So much this. And it's draining to have to explain this to people, who regardless will probably just throw you in their arrogantly dismissive "doesn't _really_ want to get better" basket. Which, btw, can cause further psychological harm to a chronically ill person.

It helped me..be recognized as a “responsible #adult.”
But once I became severely #disabled,
that entire strategy suddenly stopped working.": buff.ly/KOFvrhB
