These Greek oil lamps are from the 4th-1st centuries BC. The oil would have come from olives, nuts, fish or seeds. (Items not currently on display.)

Really fascinating day at the #DelaWarrPavilion #bexhill taking part in #BeingModern. A great selection of talks and I had my own dressing room!
Don’t forget to look up, when you visit us! There are many treasures on the tops of our cabinets. #Bexhill
Today! We have some places left. #Bexhill
Don’t forget our popular Indian Buffet Night. It is being held on the 15th September this year. It starts at 7pm at the Shiplu Tandoori Restaurant, 109 London Road, #Bexhill. Please either come into the museum to get your tickets or book via our website. The cost is £25.
On Saturday (12th September) we have an informal illustrated talk (and objects to handle) on Rameses II and the Abu Simbel Temple. It begins at 1.30 and costs £10 or for #Bexhill Museum members £8. This includes refreshments and admission to the rest of the museum.
The fabric of our Sargent Gallery is beautiful and nearly all original to the construction of the building in 1903. The columns are made of metal. Originally though the roof was glass, which wouldn’t be suitable for preservation of historic items. When you visit us, why not check it out? #Bexhill
This plan is of our museum - before it was a museum! Built in 1903 as a small pavilion for visitors to Egerton Park, in 1914 it became #Bexhill Museum. Then in 2009 we completed a major extension and refurbishment programme, adding three additional galleries.
