Book bans in my area have created a bit of a reading hangover for me. It’s hard to read when there feels like there’s pressure to read as fast as I can before they take the books away. So instead I freeze and read nothing. #bannedbookweek #reader #stressed

Ray Bradbury’s novel, Fahrenheit 451, has become the poster child for today’s epidemic of book banning. While a deeply dystopian tale, it also gives us the blueprint for fighting back against censorship and anti-intellectualism.

Manga gets banned in a lot of school libraries for valid reasons (violence, sexual content) not exactly “educational“ if the opening scene is a classroom of students are pointing guns at tentacle monster.

It's #NationalBookMonth and #BannedBookWeek, a time to celebrate reading without limits and the folks who help make that happen. Help us save the E-Rate program, which helps public schools and libraries give students access to free, high-speed broadband internet.

It’s banned book week. Few have faced bans as much as Ellen Hopkins, who was my guest back on episode 54 of A Book & Its Author. #bannedbookweek
