Tonight's #LFF schedule:
Sphinx Alberta's Smile
Club Kid
One of my favourite films at #LFF has been The Liberation, a dark, shocking story about a mother ditching her family to join a cult. I was gripped from start to finish. Carrie Coon is excellent (as ever) and Lily James is a charismatic cult leader.

Next #review up from #LFF is #Artificial (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️):
"Paints a bleak portrait of OpenAI, with Garfield delivering an unforgettable performance as Altman and Rich’s screenplay lending the story an unsettling edge...may be one of the year’s most terrifying films."

Next #review up from #LFF is #PaperTiger (⭐️⭐️⭐️):
"...hampered by a predictable and inconsistent narrative, but its cast and atmospheric direction provide enough highlights to keep it from becoming entirely forgettable."

THE FACE OF HORROR may just be one of the best-looking films of the year, but it's let down by pacing issues and underdeveloped characters.

My recent watches for #LetterboxdFriday.
Lots of films in the last couple of weeks, largely due to the London Fest, which has delivered some unexpected treats (e.g. TO HOLD A MOUNTAIN & ONCE UPON A TIME IN HARLEM) alongside hotly anticipated fare (FATHERLAND, THE BELOVED & CLARISSA). #FilmSky #LFF

- one is slightly overhyped but still very good.
- one has potential to change the world... if people see it.
- one features a genuinely fantastic cameo.
- one is expertly crafted and such an engaging watch.
Despite generating some tense moments, HEYSEL 85’s fictionalised approach to real events threatens to cheapen a tragedy.
