#WildflowerHour A #favouriteplant of mine, abundant on my walks, is Herb-Robert, Geranium robertianum. After the drought this one, full of rich colour, straggles along a hedgerow near Monmouth.

In second place, my 2026 #wildflowerhour #favouriteplant is Green-winged #Orchid.

The flowers are endlessly variable & so beautiful. Being surrounded by so many, with a great sea view, in the glow of the evening sun is just heavenly.

I am so lucky to live near by and I can't wait for next year. 😍

It’s hard to choose a #FavouritePlant of the year, but I was excited to find what turned out to be Mousetail, Myosurus minimus, flowering under shrubs at Ely Leisure Village, a new one for me. #WildflowerHour

Another #wildflowerhour #FavouritePlant was this Smooth Rupturewort Herniaria glabra I found in a planter in the centre of Ballater, Aberdeenshire in August. Undoubtedly an inadvertent introduction, just goes to show that anything can turn up anywhere. @bsbibotany.bsky.social

And, of course, Beggarticks Bidens frondosa, today’s specimens at Bradford-on-Avon Wharf on the K&A canal, on lock gates and in canal walls. Still a #FavouritePlant despite becoming common as muck locally! #WildflowerHour

My #favouriteplant has to be this Deadly Nightshade. Memorable because a) it was the first time I'd seen it locally and b) it was the evening of the partial solar eclipse. I spotted it as we walked up through woodland on the north side of the South Downs, south of East Chiltington #wildflowerhour
