This is a short video showing off the improvements made to the system within the Polydex Game Engine called Parallax Pockets. These are rectangular areas that can be dropped, scaled and rotated to any part of a game world that track the camera and apply perspective effects using its designated image and metadata. This system uses parallax tricks to make you feel like there's depth involved. This is different to some of our other parallax efforts (mostly in our other games) that cover the entire background. In EXIT we need to avoid rendering over large areas to keep the frame rate happy, hence the pockets. These are designed to be small modular areas that work in their own region, keeping browser redraw down.Video
