I’m going to admit something here — this chapter makes me happy. I just read through it one more time, as I do when I post, fixed a typo or two, and just enjoyed the scene. Sometimes what I’m writing just makes me smile. I would hope that all writers feel like that — at least sometimes.

It's been a challenging day in terms of family health, but at least it's been a real comfort to have homemade apple pie to eat while I read a wonderful e-ARC ( @tansyrr.bsky.social 's Those Haunted Hathaways, which is a sharp-edged *delight*)!
