I love how this feels old and original at the same time. Nicely done.

I’ve witnessed four centuries of history and kept more secrets than I care to count. Some stories were buried for a reason.
Gorgeous work!
It's actually a true story. It hurt a bit at the time but years later I got the opportunity to tell it to William Shatner. His response was brilliant... but that's advice that'll remain my secret.
I like to have at least one backup plan for every idea I have. I don't look at it like a re-write, more like life options.
Don't worry, I believe we vampire writers can sleep during the day... isn't that the rule?
What if the goal isn't "to make something people enjoy", but instead to let your story out of the cage. Perhaps your story will be hated by almost everyone... perhaps it will liked by a few... and inspire only one. I'm comfortable with that. But being successful would also be nice. 🤪
I feel that way about reading. But I find writing harder. How much should I reveal? Which stories deserve to be told... and what should remain a secret?
I apparently use too many pauses. My editor told me that all my dialogue sounds like James T. Kirk.
Transparent sticky notes? How have I never heard of this before?
I liked your poem, so I clicked on your profile and read your description. You call yourself an ekphrastic poet. I actually had to look that up. That doesn't happen to me often. You are going to be a pleasure to follow!
Monsters drink coffee in tea cups.
Curiosity drive the plot. I love it!
A crisp autumn night, with a breeze gentle enough to move wisps of smoke from the candles in my library, but not enough to blow out the flame.
I'd love to know why as well... but in the absence of knowledge: "It's pretty!"
I completely agree. This is excellent advice.
I told Nathan tonight that I've wanted to tell this story for centuries. Wanting to do something was never enough to make it safe. #NarrativesOfTheDamned #SecretsFromTheVeil #Vampire youtube.com/shorts/MH4NN...
I didn’t have a great personal experience sailing the open seas, but I do understand the emotional appeal.
Eye-catching!
You can do it! Bring it home strong!
