[Rant on AI and the lack of human content] Yesterday, I replied to someone who turned out to be an AI bot. Then I watched a Youtube vid on running machines and 3 minutes in, it was just so abundantly clear it was fully AI generated as an affiliate funnel. Today, I'm looking for book recs and […]

And yes I see the irony of me posting this from a computer that is NOT that Thinkpad 😄 Back to writing!

I have this nice workflow going where I use an old Thinkpad T440p for focused writing. It runs a bare Debian 13, cwm, xterm, git and vim. That's it. There's nothing else on the machine. I love it 🩷

I used a simple monitoring script for the longest time, and it worked fine. But I recently had a very high load event on my server and it made me wish I'd had some historical data and graphs to see the lead up to the issue. Even then, Beszel feels like overkill but it's nice anyways.

I needed monitoring and graphs for the few servers I run, so I installed Beszel and I couldn't be happier.

Very easy to set up, not as heavy and AI infested as Grafana or Netdata, and looks clean.

Best feeling in the world: having an appointment that you were really, REALLY not looking forward to, and then having it be cancelled by the other party. Pure bliss 👌🦄

Even in Flemish, a version of the expression “to blow smoke up your arse” exists. Using this device, allegedly 😬

An antique medical kit featuring various instruments, including a bellows device, test tubes, and other surgical tools, all arranged neatly inside a wooden case.

And finally, a really lovely asymmetric wrap dress from Ellie Saab. This fits with what I've seen of her before - a lot of romantic, ethereal designs. Really worth checking her out if you're not familiar with her stuff.

runway photo of a one shoulder, column silhouette dress, constructed with wrapped/draped tuille or chiffon. It is in peach. The fabric of the bodice sweeps in a sharp diagonal across the chest from the right shoulder to under the left arm. Here it is crossed by a large horizontal band of fabric, wrapped around the mid-section. The skirt flows from beneath this band to the floor, with a hip-height slit on the left side. It creates an interesting visual effect where the right side of the model is mostly covered, and the left arm and leg are fully exposed.
