Fertility aside, the popularization of health-as-competition will have lasting effects on physical and mental health. Events like Sperm Racing and the Enhanced Games highlight how mainstream the gamification of augmentation has become.

I gave a brief lecture on the science(?) behind looksmaxxing earlier this summer to a group of high school students exploring careers in STEM. When I asked how many of them knew someone using unregulated supplements, nearly three quarters raised their hands!
