Light for Life: Optical Innovations in Health Imaging, Sensing and Spectroscopy, this year's annual industry day, took place yesterday in the school of physics. It featured talks from Graham and Ifor, as well as Alison McLeod, former group member and now the director of Photonics Scotland.

Last week Ifor and Eli from the OSC gave invited talks at the SPIE Optics and Photonics meeting in San Diego.  Eli talked about developing new OLED materials, and Ifor showed how organic semiconductors can make very fast photodiodes as well as very fast OLEDs for communications.
