3/ Stories were submitted by 18-25 year olds about their experiences, some of whom were under 18 at the time of the pandemic. The Inquiry also received invaluable contributions from adults who cared for, or worked professionally with, young people during the period.

2/ From the 58,000 stories shared through Every Story Matters, almost 18,000 stories and more than 400 targeted interviews focus specifically on how the pandemic affected children and young people.

2/ 600 children and young people, now aged 9 to 22, shared their experiences revealing a multitude of profound, distressing and life-altering ways the pandemic affected them.

1/ The Children and Young People's Voices research report is the largest child interview-led research exercise ever undertaken by a UK public inquiry.

4/ The UK Covid-19 Inquiry's Module 8 ‘Children and Young People’ examined the impact of the pandemic on children and young people, across all four nations of the UK. In total, 46 witnesses gave evidence at the Inquiry’s hearings in London.

3/ We heard that while some children and young people found moments of closeness with family and friends, others faced new and difficult circumstances: difficulties at home, disrupted education, as well as challenges with physical and mental health.
