I'm probably too deep into ethnomethodology jargon to be able to pick up new more shaming terminology I'm mostly just interested in how they coordinated and organized themselves socially not really in judging them as bad

part of my problem has been identifying what "person-like" is (I've taken some stabs mostly from older sociology) but also as you point out the data we have might be selected to seem more person-like whatever our standard is

I'm on the side of "they sure are acting like people" but I think your objection is really important and I've been having a hard time articulating alternative hypotheses

apparently especially effective for beings that completely bottom out at the layer of language and symbols!
