A colorful comic-book-style flyer for Montgomery’s No Kings 4 rally. A muscular Black superhero in a red-and-blue suit, red mask, and silver star emblem stands on the right, pointing toward the viewer. A speech bubble reads, “You don’t need superpowers to be a super voter! No Kings!”
Across the top, “MONTGOMERY” appears in large white brush lettering against a deep blue background, flanked by two QR codes labeled “REGISTER NOW.”
Bold lettering reads “GET READY TO VOTE!” with “VOTE” emphasized in red. Event details below: “No Kings 4, Oct. 17, Noon to 2 p.m., Court Square on Dexter Ave.”
The bottom features the protest slogan “NO KINGS, NO THRONES, NO CROWNS” in distressed white lettering, with red lines crossing out illustrated crowns. The background combines textured blue panels, torn-paper edges, and crumpled white paper for a dynamic comic-book aesthetic.
Logos along the bottom identify Alabama Resisters of Indivisible, Atlas for Democracy, and the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival.

Please reach out to your representatives to raise hell about Hegseth's plan to live stream a #PublicExecution in December. Here's what I sent Katie Britt yesterday. I had to abridge the alt text due to character limit, but you are welcome to borrow language from there.

There has to be a red line.

Abridged: I am an Alabama constituent requesting congressional oversight of the Department of Defense’s announced plan to publicly livestream the December 3 execution of Nidal Malik Hasan at Fort Hood.

My concern is not his conviction or sentence, but the government’s decision to broadcast an execution and potentially expose children to graphic violence.

I ask that you obtain written answers from the Department of Defense addressing five questions:

1. Legal authority: What statute or military regulation authorizes a public execution livestream? How does this comply with restrictions on execution witnesses?

2. Protection of minors: What safeguards will prevent children from viewing the livestream or encountering recordings afterward?

3. Distribution: Which platforms will broadcast the execution? Will recording, downloading, or redistribution be permitted? How will subsequent circulation be restricted?

4. Public interest: What purpose does broadcasting an execution serve that cannot be fulfilled through authorized witnesses, independent reporting, and public documentation?

5. Accountability: Has the Department conducted legal, ethical, or child-safety assessments? Will Congress receive those findings?

I recognize the gravity of Hasan’s crimes and the suffering of his victims and their families. This request concerns the separate decision to produce and distribute footage of an execution.

Protecting children from graphic violence should not depend on whether that violence is committed privately or under lawful government authority.

Please seek these answers before December 3 and urge the Department not to proceed with a publicly accessible livestream until its legal authority, distribution plans, and child-safety safeguards have undergone independent review.
