Finally done with the roof. I still need to replace the fascia and frame out and install a new window before the insurance co. will release the rest of my claim, but at least I don't have to worry about the rain anymore.
Whoever installed the last roof didn't know (care?) how to do things right. (Incorrectly installed underlayment and drip edge, no starter shingles, etc.) In addition to the tree damage, two other sheets of OSB were rotting. Making progress has been slow due to all the rain this year.
Decided to remove a mulberry tree that was growing up into the utility lines. I've been getting a lot of use out of my chainsaw this summer.
Stone Lake, Michigan. I stopped to take this pic as I was driving back from Indiana. The water was warm, and I wanted to return on the weekend to take a swim, but I realized it would be Labor Day and decided to not deal with the potential crowd of end-of-summer people.
I just noticed that some of my posts never made it through. So I'm going to repost some older pics.
I decided to add a second door to the stairwell into the living room with the intent to wall off the original door in the kitchen to create space for an additional counter.
Saw other people doing this and thought it looked fun.
