If you are interested in Megalodon and all other prehistoric sharks (and let’s face it, who isn’t?) there is a new book coming Feb 9th that you have to get! I was lucky enough to be commissioned to illustrate this amazing book wonderfully written by Dr. Jack Cooper

Again, I am sorry I have been MIA but I am ridiculously busy and the little time I have free I am trying to spend outside so I do not get burnt out. It has been a very hard balance but I am very excited about all of these projects!

@serpenillus.bsky.socialOct 5, 2026, 1:59 PM

I did so many illustrations for this book that I am really excited for you to see! Also Dr. Cooper has written a thorough revision of what we know about Megalodon and all other extinct sharks. This is a must get!

@serpenillus.bsky.socialOct 5, 2026, 1:59 PM

Thank you so much!

Sorry for being MIA but I am the most overwhelmed with work I have ever been in my career! However, I am very happy to announce that this, one of the MANY projects that have kept me extremely busy, now has an official release date!

Here is a link to a wonderful thread by @stephanspiekman.bsky.social about this amazing paper! Thank you so much for entrusting me with reconstructing this amazing animal bsky.app/profile/step...

Excited to share our new paper in Science Advances! Led by Dr Wei Wang at #IVPP in Beijing, it presents a complete skeleton of #Austronaga, the most marine of all archosauromorphs. To boot, this fossil preserves the oldest complete digestive tract of any reptile! www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Please say hello to Austronaga, an aquatic trachelosaurid from Triassic Asia. In a new OA paper published yesterday in Science Advances, Dr. Wei Wang , @stephanspiekman.bsky.social and colleagues presented a description of a COMPLETE Austronaga

I could not be happier of how my concept designs got translated into 3D models by the talented artists at MilkVFX. Here are three more animals that I designed for last week’s episode of Surviving Earth: Dimetrodon, Diplocaulus and Dendromaia

For last week’s episode of Surviving Earth, I was entrusted with doing the concept design for Saurornitholestes.

Here you can see my concept design and how amazingly it was translated into a 3d model by the talented artists at MilkVFX

One of my favorite concept designs to do for Surviving Earth was Zupaysaurus. I was entrusted with designing both the adult and juveniles. It was special for me to see this design come to life

The second episode of Surviving Earth premieres tonight on NBC! But before that I want to share with you more concept designs I did for various animals from last week’s episode. If you know me you can imagine how excited I was to design Triassic species for this show!

Continuing with the first episode of Surviving Earth (which premiered last Thursday on NBC/Friday on Peacock) here is another look at one of the animals for which I created the concept design. Meet the super cute Elph borealis, a small Late Permian dicynodont

As the time to talk #SurvivingEarth nears, I wanted to say that I’m extremely proud to have been part of the amazing team who worked on it

I was commissioned by Tim Haines (producer of Walking with Dinosaurs) and his team, to create the concept art for MANY animals for this project!

Could extraordinary plume-like structures like those on Longisquama and the recently described Mirasaura be present in other drepanosauromorphs? I think it is not completely out of the question!

#paleoart #art

Sketches showing Mirasaura and Longisquama together with Vallesaurus,Megalancosaurus and Drepanosaurus all with dorsal crests formed plume-like structures like those present jn the first two taxa
