Proud to share the labs first preprint! Led by Yeon, whose hard work, dedication and drive have been instrumental in bringing the project to this point. Thank you to everyone involved, especially long-term collaborators Yvonne and Yuguang. #Wnt #WntUK #RASopathy #ERK

Anne Ashford, Simon Cook @drsimoncook.bsky.social @babrahaminst.bsky.social and colleagues use phosphoproteomics to identify novel DYRK1B targets and establish DYRK1B as a regulator of processing body abundance.

Our work on the role of the proteasome in developmental tempo is out!!!! ๐ŸญโŒ›๏ธ๐Ÿ‘คโณ Six years after identifying an association between protein stability and developmental tempo, we now demonstrate a causal link between protein turnover and developmental tempo through proteasomal degradation

Online now: Proteasome-dependent protein degradation shapes developmental tempo in mouse and human neural progenitors #biology #science

dlvr.itProteasome-dependent protein degradation shapes developmental tempo in mouse and human neural progenitorsWhy do mammalian species develop at different speeds? Nakanoh, Stamataki, et al. show that mouse neural progenitors have faster protein synthesis and proteasome-mediated degradation than human. Manipulating proteasome activity alters the pace of neural development, implicating protein turnover in the evolution of developmental tempo.
