If you’re lucky enough to get that next season, it takes forever to get the machine back up and running. And by then you’ve usually lost heads of department, key crew, and most of your writers room. It’s a terrible model for those who make the show and those trying to watch it.

This is exactly the issue. By the time you get through post, deliver the show, and they finally pick an airdate after dithering about, it’s already often been a year since you wrapped the writers room. Then they take forever to collect all their data.

Attention locals: area datacenter boosters are attempting to rebrand them as "digital infrastructure," so if you hear that in the din of your day, now you know.
