Story and Sparks in Grimwild are an interesting engine too. You have a resource where you can introduce anything in the fiction that could help your characters out, but you dont get that resource back until you deliberately make trouble for yourself or get in conflicts with your fellow party.
I just recently tried out Sinless, and the dice pool mechanics where you allocate dice from a limited resource per turn makes it so you might want to save your dice for later in case you need to protect yourself. or spend all your dice now to boost your attack, but you'll have no more dice to defend
But also it's cool to see new resolution mechanics that explore different roleplay experiences Like Pushed Rolls in Dragonbane. It was really cool in adding a push-your-luck mechanic for mitigating bad rolls but at a cost. Im seeing more of this games, which i am all for
I want TTRPGs with interesting resolution mechanics that's more than just roll over a number to succeed I want resource allocation I want buttons to press I want an engine I want push your luck I want interesting choices
