This year is already shaping up to be a record year for us. Now, with these new measures we can help even more. More information will be announced from October 6, 2026.
Because that is the only long-term solution to the crisis that we're in. We must remove our reliance on oil and gas so that Irish homeowners and businesses can have more control and security over a key cost to their business or household.
On top of those measures, we have a new boiler scrappage scheme, offering up to €14,500 to replace old fossil fuel systems. This will help to cut the reliance on the fossil fuels which are driving the high energy costs we are seeing.
There is also a new, standalone, non-means-tested grant of €600 for batteries, available to all homeowners. This will also help with the cost of electricity, allowing homeowners store excess electricity to use at times when the cost of producing it is higher.
From next week, people in receipt of certain payments from the Department of Social Protection will be eligible for grants covering up to 100% median cost of solar panels and a battery. Together, these measures will make a huge difference, saving homeowners hundreds of €s on their bills every year.

You may be advised to get a technical assessment done if your home was built before 2007, as the insulation used prior to 2007 might not be up to the standard required for a heat pump to work efficiently. We have a technical assessment grant which can be used to help cover the cost.
From there, we recommend doing further research on the contractors listed, and reaching out to a few options in order to get some quotes and timelines.
Then, select which area in Ireland you're looking for, and what kind of heat pump you're looking for (e.g. Air to Water) then hit "search." You'll be given a list of different registered contractors who fit your search criteria.
First, search "SEAI Heat Pump Contractors" on the web, and then click "SEAI BEH Contractor Search" from the results. (hes.seai.ie/GrantProcess...)
If you've decided to start with a heat pump, you need to find an SEAI-registered contractor to avail of our grants (up to €12,500).
First, you need to decide if you're going to use the One Stop Shop grant route (meaning you're upgrading the rest of our house at the same time) or if you'd like to use the Individual grant route (meaning you're upgrading your home bit by bit).
Looking to upgrade to a Heat Pump but not sure where to find an SEAI-registered contractor?
