Open enrollment is a great time to review your Medicare plan and uncover potential savings. The Low-Income Subsidy (LIS), known as "Extra Help," and the Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) program can help reduce out-of-pocket costs, but many older adults who qualify aren't aware that they exist.

Trust also applies to consistency too. Turnover makes people rebuild relationships and teach new staff what effective support looks like, while vacancies strain DSPs. A stable, skilled workforce is a quality-of-life issue. #DSPRW2026 #InvestInDSPs

“You can’t force somebody to trust you just because your job title says you’re their DSP.” As Jordan explains, trust is earned through consistency, patience, and showing someone over time that you are listening. #DSPRW2026

Nearly 30% of older adults have difficulty with dressing, bathing, preparing meals, or other daily tasks. Most people want to get the support they need at home rather than in a nursing facility, but Medicare and Medicaid aren't funded or structured to meet this need for our rapidly aging population.
