The Vaadin MCP server now gives your agent the full Java API for any Vaadin class and runs as a self-hosted Docker image, even fully air-gapped.

There's also a Directory MCP server for finding compatible add-ons.

Upgrading to Vaadin 25.3? SSO Kit, Collaboration Kit and AppSec Kit are deprecated ahead of Vaadin 26. Spring Security and shared signals replace them.

Check the upgrade guide first:

AI that fills in your forms is useful. AI you can audit is better.

Vaadin 25.3's AI form filler shows a confidence level for every field and where in the document each value came from, and lets you undo any single field.

A Vaadin Grid with 1,000,000 rows: from ~8 seconds to under 1.

Lazy loading, sorting and filtering in the database, and one data provider shared by Grid and ComboBox. Code along:

Observability Kit 5 is rebuilt from scratch: no Java agent, one dependency in Spring Boot, works with Prometheus, Datadog or Grafana.

Its Insights endpoint shows the route, component, click and failing line of code, structured for agents.

Port a Swing app to Vaadin by swapping imports: javax.swing.* → vaadinx.swing.*

In a 65-file inventory app, 97.3% of lines stayed byte-identical. 40+ Swing components, modal dialogs included.

Did your coding agent's change actually reach the running app?

The Dev Loop CLI in Vaadin 25.3 (preview) tells it: whether the app is running, hot-swap or restart, and whether each change is live.

Record a macro, schedule it, or let an AI agent run it, all through your existing Vaadin UI and its permissions.

In one test, Draiv (alpha) used a sixth of the tokens and half the time of a browser-driving agent.

Some complexity is unavoidable when you process 4.3 billion freight-emissions calculations a year.

A separate frontend stack isn’t.

What if you could build a full web UI without leaving Java? 👀

With #Vaadin, you can.

Drew’s beginner tutorial takes you through building a customer management app with a sortable grid, live filtering, forms with validation, and dialogs, all backed by #SpringBoot.

Your #Java app isn’t the expensive part.

Maintaining it for 15 years is.

Security audits, CVEs, upgrades, infrastructure — what does long-term support actually look like?

Join Fredrik Rönnlund & Miikka Andersson on Sept. 3 to find out.
