Another fun collab with @mattpurslow.bsky.social about what makes GTA tick: San Andreas and how it kicked Rockstar's cinematic ambitions into high gear.

Thank you!
The coolest guides editor (and Lauren) I've ever known is now a critics jury member for the Horror Game Awards, very proud 🥲
Super excited about this!
Me too! How do I apply to be a houseguest?
I’m seeing Christine Baranski and Tilda Swinton in the same week.
Hey, how many do you have in stock? I’d like to order one to London! Happy to pay express shipping.
Interesting how much information people need to ‘verify’ to believe women.
I sometimes forget I exist in a queer bubble, and my reference points are very different to people outside of that. When there’s any crossover, I’m like oh, cool, nice, welcome to my brain.
Here for the PBR.
Silent Hill: Townfall has arrived, and it's got a meaty handful of endings! @prettyheartache.bsky.social and I have teamed up to produce a meaty deep dive into the lore and endings of everyone's favourite new seaside town of St. Amelia 🫡
Spoiler: I took ages.
Townfall is excellent. This isn't some over-the-top survival horror about one person's journey through hell. It's a confronting exploration that some of the bleakest experiences are the very real (and present) struggles that ordinary people face with no real alternative or way out.
Tristan's review hits the nail on the head that Silent Hill: Townfall "tackles previously unexplored shades of evil like corporate greed and environmental mismanagement that help to make it feel like a refreshingly new twist."
I reviewed Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, and I’m happy to say it’s quite an amazing and ambitious tactical experience. Over a hundred hours spent and I still have so much more to see in its wonderfully diverse story paths.
Three of them have had incredible opening scenes. We are being spoiled!
I started seven games this week. Help.
