Democrats just won a special election for a US House seat in New Jersey. It shrinks House Speaker Mike Johnson’s majority to one vote. One Republican defection on any party-line vote and it fails. That’s where we are right now.

Trump doesn’t have the authority to issue an executive order like this because birthright citizenship is enshrined in our Constitution. It would take 3/4 state majority to pass an amendment banning it. This is the first test of our judicial system. How will SCOTUS rule?
