I’m sorry dude that’s completely insane

Hahah

I genuinely don't know how to respond to this

I've been patient for a decade, my friend. There are always reasons not to play youngsters. There are also reasons to play them.

defending Lange?! lol

LWB linked with Bayern & Dortmund by Sky Sports Germany today. My optimistic take: it might push us to provide a pathway. My pessimistic take: there's no evidence that even our very best talents will find a pathway at Spurs & they should all leave ASAP for clubs that will actually play them.

Thinking back to how great it was when Spurs had a few academy players in the team and squad

I’m open to it, definitely. I think he craves Bentancur’s tactical discipline at the moment.

If it’s this I feel sick

We had a conv on the pod about the pivot & talked about RDZ’s motivations & one thing that occurred to me afterwards was that in Bentancur/Tonali he’s got a short/long distances combination (in possession) & maybe he feels Fernandes/Bentancur is too short distance coded (& he can’t do without Bent).

Growing ‘RDZ out’ sentiment building, the fragility comments did not help… feels like a lack of accountability I guess?

Agreed

100%

All that said, thought we were decent first 30.

Game state obviously a huge factor but our first two PL goals of the season came after the starting pivot was replaced.

I need to hear that Fernandes had a knock otherwise that sub is completely indefensible.

Glorious goal, first touch was lovely

INJECT IT

I understand Bentancur/Tonali offers a lot of security and will be a big part of two clean sheets in a row. So it’s tempting. Italian coaches love clean sheets. But they’re also impacting our ability to progress the ball into the final third in an effective way. Balance needed.

I’d prefer not to see that pivot again. I didn’t think Tonali was what we needed this summer albeit I think he’s good. For me he’s a marginal Bentancur upgrade. To see them playing *together* is annoying. Neither of them passes the ball exceptionally. Get Fernandes in there (who does).
