Does anybody know, when you add a motion sensor to #HomeAssistant, and it gives you the option to show as Motion, Occupancy, etc, does it actually make a difference (other than the name)?

And can you change it without removing and re-adding? 🫣

IKEA #Bilresa scroll wheel in #HomeAssistant is weird 🥸

I can see why there’s specific blueprints for it - separate “buttons” for left, right, and click; then multiplied by 3 for the different modes…

I assume it’s a #Matter limitation? No concept of “scroll” in the standard?

Looking forward to the new triggers stuff in #HomeAssistant 2026.10 (weird I know 🤷🏻‍♂️)

Have generally done different automations for different triggers, but this I think will be the kick to do some consolidation work 😀

Mental note... If you set up a new account on Bitwarden, and choose bitwarden.eu, then you need to manually choose that domain each time you log in, otherwise it worn't work 🤦🏻

Anyone with #Aqara #Matter devices able to confirm something for me? Eg P2, FP300

Specifically that you can only configure and firmware update them if you have an Aqara hub.

You can’t do a firmware update or change settings just with the app or something like #HomeAssistant.
