A lovely review that summarises the game better than I ever have

in anticipation of @themountaingoats.bsky.social's upcoming San Francisco residency, i bring you my latest live comp: ALPHA - THE BALLAD OF THE ALPHA COUPLE AS TOLD BY THE MOUNTAIN GOATS
In September, I took part in a review jam of sorts, for which I wrote about @mirror-lock.bsky.social 's Galatea. I really liked my time with the game!
And like all good reviews (if you can call it that; I'd bill it as a rant), it comes in horrible Google docs form!
I wrote this for the Knowledge Knight Review Jam organized by the Quinns Quest discord, and I would be remiss if I didn't point folks towards all the other excellent writing submitted as a part of that!
what if he came back. as a treat
This truly means the world to hear. MCing Under Hollow Hills has been a magical experience, and I wanted to do that feeling justice, but to have Vincent Baker read my review and say this about my writing has simply floored me.
hey im having a horrendous day/week, if you wanna support my work it might be a good time to back my patreon and be nice to me
Why not try a new game? Why not give Fatherfog a spin? Why not pick up this collection of adventures and see which one gets your imagination spinning?
PbtA fans, here's my challenge to you. For the next 12 months, when somebody asks how PbtA works, tell them that normally a 10+ is a critical hit, a 7-9 is a hit, and a 6- is a compromise, but that unusually challenging or dangerous situations can bump itdown.
I've always liked this spread in Apocalypse World, because it'd be impossible to tell if it's for a pbta game, or an OSR blogpost expounding on why OSR is the only real way to play ttrpgs.
There's a strange comfort in having Andor waiting for me, maybe forever. I can't imagine I won't like it. It's a teeny tiny li'l present under the tree that I stare at but never open, like a real weirdo.
I play TTRPGs to feel sad, but in a fun way!
I've always said deadlines are how I actually finish things, but perhaps I've stacked a few too many of them this month. The fact that they're almost all fun, creative things that I want to be excited about makes me feel even worse.
Subarktic - a MoSh module I made with friends - is now available on TKG's website! So surreal :D
You can buy words of mine straight from Tuesday Knight Games now! A year ago I never would have even imagined this as a possibility. Thanks to Quinns Quest, Sean McCoy, Over/Under, my C/O Labs crew, and everyone I've ever played with for leading to this!
Interested in Fatherfog, and need an adventure to test it out with? May I recommend...mine? Once again, I'm terribly proud of the work of our team, and I can't wait to see what we collab on next. I'm sure it'll be a murderously good time!
Look it up. Have you heard it?

Despite all my fears, my first session of Under Hollow Hills was an absolute delight, and I can't wait to see what the next stop on our tour (London!) holds for the Yettahbenaymid Circus!
