More of you should be playing this. It does one of my favourite things in games - telling a very un-videogamey story through the medium and language of videogames. Other examples I could give are Transistor and Iconoclasts.

Adding: this snark is never for audience benefit. If someone thinks the sci-fi is too weird or the horror is too discomforting, they can make their own jokes. Art doing that itself is to prevent others' jokes. The artist says "I'LL laugh so YOU can't make fun of me." And it's so spineless.

The funniest/saddest reaction to this amazing article has been people going "wait, Stellaris has WRITERS?" Yes folks, if a game has words... someone probably got paid to write them... even if that game isn't an RPG or a visual novel...

Amazing game with some nail biting fast paced combat and intuitive weapon switching along with the great vibes and beautiful world. A real shame and crime how the developers got screwed over, would have loved more from that team, they went out with a bang.
