Maker Secret Santa is back for 2026. A simple handmade gift swap for makers across Ireland — beginners to pros.
Weekend‑sized projects, under €50, full of creativity.

Sign up here: www.DublinMaker.ie/santa

A Dublin Maker graphic titled “Maker Secret Santa 2026.” The top shows the Dublin Maker logo with “MAY24” beside it. The main text invites people to join a Secret Santa for homemade gifts created by makers, artists, crafters, and designers across Ireland. It explains that gifts should be small, handmade, and cost under €50, with examples like 3D‑printed games, puzzles, decorations, and garments. A link to sign up, www.DublinMaker.ie/Santa, appears prominently. A step‑by‑step section outlines how it works: sign up by 1 November, receive your match on 2 November, make a weekend‑sized project, post it by 6 December, receive your gift shortly after, and optionally join an online opening on 13 December. The footer notes that all makers are welcome, from beginners to professionals.

Lovely to see Dublin Maker featured in Ham Radio Ireland this month.

They wrote about their visit to the festival and the brilliant mix of creativity, curiosity and hands‑on making. You can read it on page 33 of their October issue: www.docdroid.com/J9I2P7H/hriv...

A collage-style page titled “Dublin Maker 2026” featuring several photos from the event. The main image shows a large wooden horse sculpture outdoors with a person crouched beside it. Smaller photos show a person drawing on a chalk path, outdoor gazebo stands with posters and projects, a robot‑wars style arena labelled “Robo Armageddon,” and a large blue-and-white tent with visitors around it. Text on the page describes Dublin Maker as a family-friendly showcase of invention and creativity, recounts a visit by EI3CC members, and highlights exhibits including an electric racing car, soldering workshops, model aircraft, and a station where children dismantle electronics to learn how they work.

Others we see at different events around the country - like @emilystampart at the National Ploughing Championships! Its a great chance to hear stories from Dublin Maker 2026, and start planning for 2027!

One of the best parts of Dublin Maker is what happens after the festival. In the last few weeks we have visited some of our makers in their own workspaces (@farsetlabs - spot the Dublin Maker signage!)

A market stall under a large tent displays dozens of framed and unframed watercolour animal paintings, including dogs, foxes, cows, birds, and horses. Smaller prints and cards sit on tables and racks, and circular ornaments with animal illustrations hang on a stand. A person wearing a cap and patterned jacket browses on the right. The overall scene is colourful, busy, and creative.A metal cabinet stands against a chalkboard wall with faint chalk drawings. On top sits a sign reading “BELFAST Farset Labs” with a Dublin Maker logo, along with a plastic bag of colourful items and a green crate. The cabinet doors are covered with photos of people holding small crafted objects such as hexagonal shapes and pixel‑style hands. A wooden plaque reads “Dublin Maker Volunteer 2023.” A printed sign on the left says “IS SOMETHING BROKEN?” with a QR code and instructions. The scene suggests a makerspace or workshop environment.

We’re bringing Ireland’s repair communities together this November at The Repair Summit - a full day of shared skills, practical know‑how, and the behind‑the‑scenes work that keeps repair cafés running. Want to contribute? The Call for Sessions is open until 14 September.

A promotional poster for The Repair Summit, using an orange and green textured design. Large bold text announces the event and a call for session proposals closing 14 September. Three content streams are listed: “Making It Happen” about running repair cafés, and “Fixing Things” focused on hands‑on repair skills. A QR code sits beside the stream descriptions. The bottom section shows the venue — The Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun — and the date and time, 28 November 2026 from 10am to 5pm. Logos for Dublin Maker, Rediscovery Centre, CRNI, Taighde Éireann Research Ireland, and Community Foundation Ireland appear along the footer.

Then, over the weekend, YOU built it: 512 unique sections, assembled by makers of every age, coming together piece by piece into the finished image.

Massive thanks to Dublin Brick Con for sponsoring it 💚

Proof that the best exhibits are the ones you can't do alone!

Among the many exciting things that happened at Dublin Maker 2026 — this one deserves its own spotlight. 🧱 Ben, of Ben's Bricks, a lego genius spent two months planning a full LEGO mosaic of the Dublin Maker logo - roughly 11,500 pieces.

A person wearing an orange “Dublin Maker” T-shirt stands beside a large LEGO mosaic on an easel. The mosaic features a blue Dublin skyline with the words “DUBLIN MAKER” in white and yellow LEGO bricks.

A weekend of creativity, community and curiosity.

We can't wait to do it all again next year!

None of it happens without the people who back us. Our sponsors cover the things nobody sees: the shuttle buses, the ISL interpreters, the workshop materials, the marquees, the insurance, the signage, and the coffee that keeps the volunteers upright. See you in 2027!

Dublin Maker 2026 is done and dusted. Two days at Leopardstown, hundreds of makers, thousands of visitors, one very well-attended fashion show, and more soldering irons than any reasonable person needs.
