Yep. Drawn animation is especially magical! So is paint-on-glass, stop-motion, etc.

I feel like I've said this already but animation is legit magic to me š
Finally picked the Tove Jansson illustrated edition of The Hobbit this weekend & it is, of course, wonderful Dying at this pic though which perfectly captures not only many of the gigs Iāve been to but also 95% of the audience. Pure Cafe Oto turnout, just missing a dwarf on a modular synth
This needs to always be in circulation in comics circles. I think especially after Comic-Con announcements stirs up those inner demons telling us we need to āstep upā. That our drive is the problem, not an industry that makes its inefficiency and chaotic decisions everyoneās problem.
2 comic pages a day is throwing you into a meat grinder. Whoever is pushing that is either a moron ready to break or someone who has burned through enough artists to know the outcome will only benefit the assembly line where you are disposable. These current page rates donāt deserve ur suffering
My third and final entry for this yearās @cartoonart.bsky.social sketch-a-thon. The request was old school versions of Ultron and Brainiac hanging outā¦

Day 9 of my #inktober! This was my introduction to Zelda, itās fantastic. Nuff said:)
Well-sourced, eye-opening (but in hindsight, unsurprising) piece from Adam. The main use of AI by publishers appears to be publicity/marketing. I would like to explain why this is a bad use from the perspective of someone who gets pitched dozens of books a week for coverage.
New working paper: the Norwegian wealth tax was a huge success. The "exodus" of wealthy people never happened (less than 100 individuals left). Tax revenue increased by 71.5%. No changes in business activity or investment.
There are no "rogue AI agents" that are spoiling the reputation of all the GOOD AI agents. Anthropic created a bad and dangerous product; the bad and dangerous product did this. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/09/t...
