Days before Xi's visit to the US, we joined a cross-movement coalition making the following demands: 1. Release prisoners of conscience 2. Allow individuals to visit the country, including HH the 14th Dalai Lama 3. End transnational repression 4. Commit to critical reforms

Since it was inaugurated in 2016, the Medal of Courage has seen a range of recipients, from Yeshe Choedon to communities defending their land against mega-development in Dege County. Every recipient, including this year's recipient, Dr Gyal Lo, have taken a bold stand for Tibet.

Photos earlier today from Stockholm, where Dr Gyal Lo received the Tenzin Delek Rinpoche Medal of Courage for his tireless research and advocacy regarding the colonial boarding school system in Tibet. Special thanks to the Swedish Tibet Committee for organising such a special event.

For his tireless work in documenting and raising international awareness about China's colonial boarding school system in Tibet, it is our honour to announce Dr Gyal Lo as the recipient of the 2026 Tenzin Delek Rinpoche Medal of Courage.
