When you are Baltimore’s first Jewish Council President in over 45 years you might just randomly run into a Rabbi on your walk to work in Little Italy. He might just insist that you shake the Lulav and Etrog for Sukkot. I love this town.
We owe a great debt to the people that pour love and accountability into us. Real mentorship is rare. I am grateful to Kweisi for the way he has shown up for me.
I want to take a moment to publicly thank one of my mentors for showing up to support me last night. Congressman Kweisi Mfume is a civil rights icon, the former head of the NAACP, and a fighter for our Democracy.

When 280 people showed up to show love at my Fall Festival and my crazy kids stole the show 😂 I love this city.
We shared ideas about how we can tackle issues that span across the communities we represent, like BGE bills. Nothing is more important to us than delivering for our residents and finding solutions to the shared challenges we are facing.
It was great to welcome Council Presidents from across Maryland and D.C. to City Hall.
To everyone in Baltimore observing Yom Kippur, wishing you a meaningful day of reflection, forgiveness, and renewal. May this be a time to take stock, make amends, and enter the year ahead with intention. G’mar Chatimah Tovah.
Our police officers alone should not be expected to solve mental health crises. The Council held hearings, studied best practices and listened to our neighbors. I am proud that tonight I will introduce a bill to create a new department that connects residents with the right care at the right time.
The other award winners are heroes of mine who have been in this work for decades. Let’s keep building a city worthy of our children
There is something special happening in Baltimore. I believe a big part of why violence has plummeted is because of how we are pouring into our children. As a former educator, I know that when kids feel heard and seen, they also feel safe.
Incredibly honored to have won the Community Leadership Award from CLIA. They are an incredible organization that teaches civics to students.
L’Shanah Tovah to Baltimore’s Jewish community and to all who are celebrating Rosh Hashanah. May this new year bring sweetness, peace and health. May we continue to build a Baltimore rooted in justice, compassion, and care for one another.
Great to join Governor Wes Moore in opening the MD Dems' new field office, right here in Baltimore. I appreciated the chance to speak with my City Council colleagues and the Governor about what it means to show up for our residents. This is Baltimore's moment.
One of the coolest moments of my career was introducing Mike D from the Beastie Boys to Baltimore at the Sound Garden. Growing up, I was a huge fan. At age 60 he still sounds amazing. Baltimore is winning!
