See the connections & collective power from WAISN’s Organizational Membership Convening in Pasco, WA. More than 60 leaders gathered to strategize, and envision the future of immigrant justice in our state.
On 9/11, we honor and remember the estimated 67 unrecognized undocumented immigrants who died during the attack and as many as 6,000 undocumented immigrants who worked at Ground Zero.
Their stories are part of our history.
4/4 At a time when anti-immigrant rhetoric and policies, and a for-profit detention agenda seek to tear us down, now more than ever, we need a united immigrant justice movement that uplifts and humanizes the inherent dignity of all immigrants, especially those who are most impacted.
3/ We remain resilient and have every intention of continuing to build and strengthen WAISN and our movement to defend the rights of all Washingtonians to live with dignity and without fear. To achieve this, we will need your support to keep our crucial services running: waisn.org/donate
2/ While none of our services are going away at this time, this does mean less staff capacity for the programs directly supporting communities in need: Deportation Defense Hotline, Rapid Response, Accompaniment, and Fair Fight Bond Fund, as well as our policy and advocacy work.
1/ As a result of a funding shortfall we are undergoing an organizational restructuring to preserve the longevity of WAISN and its vital work for Washington immigrant communities. To streamline operations, we are temporarily reducing our Hotline hours to 7 a.m–2 p.m., Monday to Friday.
