it’s all just sad, lonely people seeking approval and what feels like fame but is actually a meaningless number going up. they are so desperate that they’ll take it from faceless masses or AI. the source ceases to matter as long as it does not confront them with the hollowness of their own existence

It’s such a bizarre conclusion to think that a world where all art and music is perfectly tailored to you, your experiences, and your perspectives is a GOOD thing and not a path to an empty, isolated, hollow life… It’s so obviously going to go nowhere, but they’ve bought in to the delusion.

That’s the core of it. I saw some rube yapping about how the “AI music industry” will completely kill and replace the current model because people can just generate the music they want, and that’s such a fundamental misunderstanding of why music/art resonates with people in the first place!
