In Matthew Pierce’s talk about web tech at #DDDPerth - I miss when you could learn so much just from View Source.
@stringyland.bsky.socialYou were great! Congratulations and here's to many more 💐

Julie G, accessibility dork, at your service. Head of Accessibility Assessment at @intopia.bsky.social. Living in Whadjuk lands. Spending too much time online instead of outdoors or making silly little arts and crafts stuff.
@stringyland.bsky.social@stringyland.bsky.socialOhhh and Weebl and Bob! 😍
@stringyland.bsky.social@stringyland.bsky.social👋🏻 🏃♀️
@stringyland.bsky.socialKesha Williams at #DDDPerth brings up an interesting point about AI. A prompt is a suggestion, not a command. I think a lot of devs are so used to typing commands they forget that even if it’s happening in your IDE, a chat interface isn’t code. It’s a conversation with a powerful tool about code.
@stringyland.bsky.socialI’m at #DDDPerth today, really looking forward to the web-related talks & closing keynote. I’d love to catch up with old friends & meet new folks (I’m an accessibility expert, ask me anything!) But I have low face recognition & I need new glasses, so you’ll have to spot me & say hi first 😅

Though they are actually so laughably bad that they’ll probably just get you blocked.
@stringyland.bsky.social😭 look, at least we lost to Brisbane and not some wankers #AFLGF
@stringyland.bsky.socialPeople appreciated Commetti massively while he was there, and yet… it’s still not as much appreciation as he deserves. Just the best. I miss him every time I have to hear these muppets.
@stringyland.bsky.socialFair enough 😀 It’s pretty camp, I reckon a lot of footy viewers were just waiting for the Locomotion
@stringyland.bsky.socialYeah, I think I’ve got the best option from the folks on my table
@stringyland.bsky.socialThey’re designed to be viewed from the stands, but the camera is all up in their personal space. It’s like when you take a theatre actor who Projects Their Voice and put them on tv - massive hams!
@stringyland.bsky.socialPub has a sweeps for the Norm Smith medal, I picked Luke Jackson and Jye Amiss out of the bucket. Pretty happy with that! #AFLGF
@stringyland.bsky.socialAt Baillie Place in Perth for a pub lunch and #AFLGF. Mostly Dockers fans but a respectable set of Lions folks too.
@stringyland.bsky.socialSlows down the speed of drinking
@stringyland.bsky.social“Look at this arsehole!” is a compelling post type to make, but rapidly becomes a tragedy of the commons
@stringyland.bsky.socialSimon talking about systems theory changed how I approach problems at work, and it’s been so helpful. Highly recommend getting along to hear him if you can!
@stringyland.bsky.socialHey Kirby CMS users - is it easy to write and edit content on a phone?
@sil.kryogenix.orgReposted by @stringyland.bsky.socialopen notepad type hi this is my website. type here is a link to elsewhere: <a href=“https://sil.kryogenix.org/“>me on Bluesky</a> There, you have a web page. You still need to publish it, but that’s no more difficult than signing up for (and ignoring crazy people on) Facebook, I promise.
@stringyland.bsky.socialWhen you find out, please do share, cos I'm desperate to do the same
