Alaska nasturtiums springing up in the weed basket. Where there’s a will there’s a way. 🌱

Early morning live promo for Grow Yourself Inside had us filming at Orchids Ltd in Plymouth MN. My first time seeing so many in one place! These Venus Slippers are gorgeous. 🌱

What’s the variety?

Empress of India. Finally blooming now that fall is here, darn. These nasturtium seedlings had a tough start, didn’t get them planted until late. Love the blue-green foliage contrasted with scarlet blooms. 🌱

I see now it’s a little blurry. Trying to hang on to my dog while taking it!

The little aster that could. 🌱 Blooming on the boulevard all by itself.

I wish I could remember this hydrangea variety. It was a free sample from Proven Winners and somehow I lost the label. It’s a pretty one. 🌱

I always feel a little smug picking my dinner in the garden.

The first photo not showing?

Stuffed peppers! Two varieties, Alliance and Olly. Alliance has thicker walls and a stockier appearance. Olly is bright red with the classic bell pepper shape. Forgot to photograph before most were eaten. 🌱 Both delicious. Easy to grow.

Always looking for new varieties. I’ll give it a look.

I like to try new varieties. Win some, lose some.

The jury is still out on the Akoya tomatoes I grew this season. Pros: Front door containers, compact size, attractive foliage, unusual coloring. Cons: Not impressed with the taste. Conclusion: Combine with other tomatoes for looks? 🌱

Bumblebees on Allium ‘Lavender Bubbles’. The blooms a welcome sight in the late summer garden.Sorry about the plane noise. We are under the chosen flight path for the day. 🌱

It’s always something. I have enough of best garden worlds between Minneapolis and New Orleans. Looking forward to my Meyer lemons in NOLA this winter.

Growing in my garden!

It’s meaty for an all purpose tomato. Balanced flavor. Used by all those great New Orleans cooks. Available fresh quite a bit while we are there.

Trying to find something akin to the Creole Tomatoes I covet a farmers markets in New Orleans in shoulder months. I know I won’t come close, it’s about the soil and rain. Here in my MN garden I’m going with plain old ‘Celebrity’ to experiment. 🌱 Cherokee Purple still rules up north.
