In case you weren't able to make it, @sara-altman.bsky.social and I wrote up the talk for the @posit.co OSS blog. We talked about the rise of "vibe analysis," the pitfalls of human-in-the-loop, and some new software from Posit. opensource.posit.co/blog/2026-10...

New blog post: running R and Python together on an HPC compute node with Positron, including the setup and the snags. Check it out if you routinely work in both languages (regardless of whether you use HPCs or not).

📦 Introducing shinyreact for R & Python

Write your UI natively in React. Shrink your Shiny server to data-only logic. Agent Skills write the React for you.

This is the start! Tell us what you build and what breaks.

I'm super excited to join the folks from @motherduck.com at Data Outpost in November! I'll be speaking about why the investments that make SQL comfortable for humans turn out to be the same ones that make it tractable for an agent 🤖

Check out the details at www.dataoutpost.ai

For the last 2 years I have been tracking a generational change in the nature of software development, and I think I've finally decided where all of this turmoil is going to end up. It's good news, but not for everybody. https://seldo.com/posts/we-are-all-product-engineers-now/

seldo.comWe are all Product Engineers now | Seldo.comAgents are eating the software development lifecycle from the bottom up — code generation already gone, review and ops following fast. What remains is figuring out what people actually want, which can't be automated or scaled. That job is called product engineering, it pays $240k, and nobody's training for it.

Everyone else is worried about the AI apocalypse but I’ve been hearing about that for 30 years and I can’t get very worked up any more. For me the question is: If these things can code (and they can!) then why aren’t we seeing any great software?

Importing data via the UI was our TOP MOST UPVOTED GitHub issue, and it's really exciting to have a first version of it ready to go!

The September release of #Positron went out last week, and I am so pleased to share what's new! ✨

We've got a new welcome page, the first version of importing data via the UI, improvements to Posit Assistant, surfacing package CVEs, and more:

New on the @posit.co blog: In my experience, fine tuning LLMs is more difficult and more expensive than I've seen it made out to be. In most cases, I'd recommend focusing your efforts on experimenting with a bunch of prompts and existing models.
