@thecatburgers.bandcamp.comUntune Records in Indonesia are putting out a *very* limited cassette release of Galashiels. Fun!
@ravensingstheblues.bsky.socialReposted by @thecatburgers.bandcamp.comA much needed retrospective of The Catburgers. It’s almost inconceivable that the band wasn’t scooped up & sent out via Flexi to every corner of the DIY world in the ‘80s. With a fizz fixed to the amps and huge strums hung with hooks ’n harmonies, the band vaults through pop pinwheels bit.ly/4hQdAmq
@slumberlandrecords.comReposted by @thecatburgers.bandcamp.comHi EU friends, did you know that we have an EU-hosted web shop for our mail order that stocks a cross-section of Slumberland titles at fair prices, and ships out of Spain so postage is reasonable and (hopefully) taxes aren't levied. Catburgers LPs in stock now!

In 1987 I signed up for a screen printing class in Leith, where I made this crude copy of the Rory Lichtenstein work Frightened Girl. This became the title of our song. The lyrics explore searching for identity and meaning.
@slumberlandrecords.comReposted by @thecatburgers.bandcamp.comJust arrived, a few weeks late but hey they're looking great! We'll start mailing out Catburgers LP preorders tomorrow, they should start rolling into the shops over the next week or two.

Well here it is!
Galashiels is finally out in the word, almost 37 years after we recorded it. We hope these songs bring pleasure to some new ears, as well as those who remember the good old days of The Green Tree and The Onion Cellar.
@rosyoverdrive.comReposted by @thecatburgers.bandcamp.comNew blog post! Wrote about new records from Psychic Flowers @dsett.bsky.social, Deady, The Catburgers @slumberlandrecords.com @thecatburgers.bandcamp.com, and Homework @meritoriorec.bsky.social:

@thecatburgers.bandcamp.comLoop were an incredible live band! So intense. We put them on at Speed 3 in Edinburgh back in 1988 (or was it 89?). Here's the screen print poster I made for it

@slumberlandrecords.comReposted by @thecatburgers.bandcamp.comBandcamp Friday spotlight on: The Catburgers! A lost gem from the 1980s Edinburgh underground who fit right in with the sound coming from labels like Creation, Pink and Dreamworld. Ace 60s-influenced guitar pop! Their unreleased album "Galashiels" rules!

@slumberlandrecords.comReposted by @thecatburgers.bandcamp.comWe’re over the moon to be helping get The Catburgers lost late 80s indiepop album “Galashiels” out there. Brilliant jangle and strum, some thornier moments in there too. Would have LOVED them at the time, we’re so lucky to have “Galashiels” now!
