I'm so glad someone noticed that one because it made me laugh so hard.

Currently translating Naruto: Konoha Senki. If I post about romhacking stuff it's probably from working on that.
Doing this without a guide is incredible stuff.
I got curious and googled, and they actually have a bsky and post regularly. I'm not gonna link it here because idk if that's appropriate, but google a little and u shld be able to find it. They apparently have a D&D podcast now. It's a trip seeing old NG people in the wild like that.
Also no, I haven't forgot about Naruto Konoha Senki lol. I put too much on my plate and I'm going to Japan this week, but when I come back I'm going to try churning through my project backlog then revamping the codebase.
It's nice watching people enjoy Spectral Tower after seeing so much bashing online. If you think of it as an arcade game for the PS1, I think it's easier to understand what Idea Factory might have been going for.
PS1 Obscurity Spectral Tower, Perhaps The Longest "Kusoge" Ever Made, Is Now Playable In English
Sorry, I'm unfortunately a little busy with other projects right now. But thanks for asking!
To be honest I still don't know wtf the Woodpecker Ball thing is about. I thought it was a reference to an item in another game or something, but I never found anything about it. There were literally typos in some of the text of the game, so I can't even rule that out lol.
Spectral Tower has a bad rep but honestly I felt it was more like outsider art when I played it. Yeah it's not made like other games and some of the choices make absolutely no sense but there's a kind of fun and wonder in digging into games this bizarre and obtuse.
Wow, 266 health at floor 100 is a really good run. Even as an item hunter.
This is exactly how I felt too. One thing that I think was lost on the western community is that the game is extremely self-aware. It's brutal and unfair, but weirdly rewarding. The main antagonist of the game is the devs, and they imply it a lot.
Some of you are jumping on this tile every chance you can get.
Thanks! And it's all good. It turns out they were just joking and I misread the post.
Well, that's embarrassing. Looks like I misread entirely lol. Sorry about that!
At one point, a thief stole all my items including the sword I had equipped, and when I got lucky and killed him he didn't drop any of it. Perfect game, no notes.
I worked on this. Pls give it a shot. It's interesting in so many ways its hard to describe.
Despite the rep, the game is actually fun when you get in the groove. It's incredibly frustrating but weirdly rewarding at the same time.
