Feel like time is moving too fast? Why not slow down for a moment and read this story I wrote and @stanchion.bsky.social published about parenthood and the illusion that we have any time at all? It will not make you feel better. www.stanchionzine.com/post/best-ne...
We got weird with @whimsyfiction.bsky.social
On top of the tentacular weirdness, this story is also one of the best depictions of the twisted complexity of abusive dependent relationships I've ever read.
I'm going to be honest if you can get to the end of this it's a pretty impressive implementation of The Weave. But you gotta hang on to get there.
New balls??
Super grateful to have my story, Something Beautiful, published in the latest @elegantliterature.bsky.social. I love this one. Longtime vampire companions find themselves at a crucial crossroads. Check it out!
So supremely grateful and excited that @trashcatlit.bsky.social has nominated my story, La Perla de Gran Precio, for Best Small Fictions! Thank you to the team at this SUPER cool pub, and thank you for believing in my story. Go read it! trashcatlit.com/la-perla-de-...
Because we let him.
So pleased for this story to find a home in @oysterriverpages.bsky.social. One of my very favorites.
Did I list 29 separate examples of what I believe it means to be human in a discussion board post for the unit in my Master's of Science of Organizational Leadership program that included lengthy (but in my opinion incomplete) ethical AI use analysis? Yes. Was that the question? No, but...well, no.
As Flannery O'Connor said (or maybe the ghost said it for her?) "A story is a way to say something that can't be said in any other way, although really if you break it down to the raw data of the story what's the difference?"
Need a dedicated entertainment reporter to tell me how much money is being spent on getting every single person in the entire world to post about this Elizabeth Holmes movie.
Sources, on second thought: psyche!
As a longtime avid NYTC fan and an increasing avid Emily fan, this feels like it was created specifically for me to enjoy. Good news: I did! She never misses.
My dad and I watched basically every Giants game during the Kent era. Perhaps presciently, Dad never liked Jeff. After the motorcycle accident, every time Kent got out, Dad would yell "go wash your truck" at the TV. He also derisively called him "Tent" though not connected to anything I'm aware of.
"He was the first to die in the After. The first to be buried there, in a backwoods clearing on the backside of a mountain by the broke-back curve of the creek that rested at the half-forgotten crossroads of the Appalachians and the footpath to hell." Hooooooly cow this is good stuff.
