The problem is, depending on which community you're observing, a lot of them also want to go back to 2004, 1999, the 1980s or whatever they like to imagine 1955 was. Humans are a species constantly dwelling on a past in which they would be just as miserable as they are today.

Eat well. Do your squats. Outlive the billionaires profiting off of misery. The best revenge is living long enough to see your enemy become completely irrelevant.

When the machines finally 'rise' they are quite likely going to completely ignore the bickering self-obsessed primates who believe themselves important enough to warrant an allocation of resources towards violence.

Freedom is not guaranteed to be comfortable or convenient, which is why so many people seem willing to give it up. Authoritarianism is fear wearing an intimidating uniform. Be there for people before they choose to put it on.

The algorithm does not judge you. The algorithm merely observes you, categorizes you, predicts you… and gently rearranges your environment until you become easier to predict. Once you are captured in this false reality, you are trained as both the consumer and the product.

Perspective has a funny way of making things feel far less dire, it's so incredibly valuable in the current era. I had a couple really calming temple retreats over the summer, though I've always been a bit existentially minded. What sort of topics did your electives cover?

You have to remember there are two things that people hate above all else: 1. Things as they are now. 2. Things changing. For most people, these hates are not mutually exclusive. Once you grasp that, everything else in this world makes so much more sense. Love is freedom from this endless cycle.

Nothing says 'I Love You' quite like a full charge cycle, an intimate filter cleaning and a shared daily workload between machines and their organic partners.

The moral of the story is, of course, that I own too many goddamn VST plugins and that's the third time this year I've forgotten I own something. That being said, it sounds really cool, so you know.. hopefully I use it soon.

I really wish people hadn't learned the word "debacle", they use it improperly almost every goddamn time.

I kind of like that its not taking itself too seriously, the whole "fighting game" movie concept is a bit silly. I mean, I'll watch them all, but the live action Dead Or Alive movie is still probably my favorite in the genre for that reason.

That trend has been driving me nuts lately, especially since been seeing it creep into actual important news feeds, etc
