So, this silly recall is real, and it’s because the sand filling is contaminated with asbestos. How did I verify that? well, not simply by going to gov.uk like the announcement says!

The front page of gov.uk does not have a header for “recalls”, “product […]

A British product recall notice featuring plush toy gnomes that are apparently marketed as “Halloween Gonks.” It says to check gov.uk for details

Went to GitHub to delete more stuff I've already migrated again, and it's so slow. I couldn't even reach it at all for much this past weekend due to outages. I have no idea how people still want to host anything there. Since switching to my own self hosted forgejo and mirroring to codeberg.org […]

I know pain is coming, but let me live this.

Really hitting my stride with this mail stack helm chart I'm writing that wraps exim. Me rn:

#exim

meme of showing a guy in different phases of doing a cool skateboard jumping trick down some stairs. The skateboard is actually a garden rake though, and the final phase shows him still landing on the rake such that it flips up and hits him in the face.

The first phase shows the rake labeled as "exim" in crude red lettering. The middle phase has a red arrow pointing to the guy with a label that says "I am here".

Has anyone successfully built a non-root (aka rootless) capable exim container? Can I copy your homework?

I've kindof got one here, https://git.open.engineering/oeng/exim-docker

but it never seem to work quite right, like I run `exim` in the container I get:

exim@c32a68ffb27a:/$ exim -bd […]

It remains wild to me just how bad AI generated _anything_ looks when you're a subject matter expert in that thing. Similarly, it remains really sad to me when I see Claude "generate" code, and then find the project from 8 years ago that it completely word for word stole from. I assume LLMs […]

So, to exim/postfix experiments we go! (We may do a quick detour to James as well, just to see what it's like)

## Stalwart Thoughts After experimenting with stalwart a bit, it just doesn't feel ready for production. They don't have adequate config file configuration nor adequate env var support, making their docker setup a bit clunky. In addition, I've now checked out the documentation thoroughly and I […]

Is there already a firefox extension that will scan a page for non-vegan words? I love browsing grocery store and import stores online and searching for vegan food, but it'd be great if there was a button I could click in my tool bar to scan a product page for non-vegan ingredients. If there […]

Wow, LinkedIn's algorithm really doesn't want people to read @sarahgilbert's article about keeping the Internet human in the era of AI

Out of the 10,200 impressions the feed gave my posts last week, it only gave 65 to Sarah's *important* article in @techpolicypress

As Sarah writes, "If AI […]

postfix also has been using ai for major refactors. Honestly exim is the only thing that hasn't used AI (and has an anti-ai policy), and many have suggested it's outdated... Argh, I'd also like to use jmap, but that requires a server that implements it and there's not a single solution that […]

So far, knowing what I know, I will likely give inbuxa, james, and maybe some combo of postfix + dovecot + cyrus + rspamd a try. I'll report in on the results! Scratch that, inbuxa was written as a "clean room implementation" using claude :neobot_facepalm:

So, based on all the replies here, on lobste.rs, and in anti-ai spaces, I've compiled an issue on my forgejo to start parsing what I want to try for myself as well as what I might offer as a service down the line. It mostly just categorizes links to all the things and adds super brief comments […]
