Saturn is incredible, folks! 🪐 Here with moons Tethys, Rhea, Enceladus, and Dione.
Enceladus hides a global saltwater ocean and shoots massive water geysers into space—making it a prime target in the search for life. 🌊
Imaged from my backyard in Victoria, BC!
Seeing moons orbiting Saturn (and Jupiter) never gets old. 🔭 🪐
Five are labeled here, while Rhea & Mimas were tucked behind the planet
Crazy to think: sunlight travels 1.2B km (80 mins) to hit Saturn, then reflects back another 80 mins to my backyard in Victoria, BC!
Thank you :)
Hehe. It was not :) An 8”. The sea star is absolutely amazing, but it does not shine when it comes to planets. You just need a little bit more focal length
Saturn is at its closest to Earth this year :)
I caught it with moons Thetys and Rhea on Oct 3. Just as Earth tilts on its axis, so does Saturn—making the ring angle shift noticeably year after year. SUCH a cool planet to see!

Looks like a giant brain floating in space! 🧠
The Crescent Nebula is a dying massive star shedding layers at 3000km/s—and I caught the blue outer shockwave! In ~100k years: BOOM! Supernova!
Took 5,000 years for this light to reach my yard in Victoria, BC :)
