I could tell this image was fake - but it wasn't super obvious at first glance. (Gift article from The New York Times. You can read it for free without a subscription.)

Does anyone know anything about feathers… I found this odd feather blowing in from the shore. Maybe a shag (cormorant) feather? Except it’s flatter on top than the one in the drawing by Niels Meyer-Westfeld from his book ‘Feathers of Aotearoa’

The feather I found has down further up one side than the otherThis is a better photo of the iridescent olive green colour along one side Detail from a drawing of a cormorant from ‘Feathers of Aotearoa’ (Potton & Burton) by Niels Meyer-Westfeld Meyer-Westfeld’s drawing of a cormorant feather

These are roads, rather than streets. Great that he knew the route though

Man steals bus - but TAKES UNSUSPECTING PASSENGERS WHERE THEY WANT TO GO. Also, sex toys nicked “still in their packaging”. I love Waiheke police reports

The 21-year-old was arrested and charged with stealing the bus and dangerous driving.
On Tuesday 29 September the 21-year-old was arrested again, in Auckland, for disorderly behaviour and breach of bail. He appeared in Auckland District Count on
Wednesday morning.
Answering one of the many questions Gulf News had about the incident, Sergeant Matthews says it did not count as technically kidnapping' the passengers. Although theyboarded thebusunder false pretences-assum-ing he was an actualbus driver - the 21-year-old never held them against their will and let them off the bus where they wanted to go.
In other news, Waiheke police were called in to solve a case of missing sex toys on Friday.
"Somebody reported somenew... adult... toys of theirs were stolen. Of course, we listen and we don't judge, so we made inquiries and located the items still in their packaging." Sergeant Matthews says an associate of the owners had taken the toys, and after police inquiries they were returned on Monday.
On Monday 28 September, a car was crashed into a power pole on Wharf Road at around 8.30pm. Sergeant Matthews says the driver, a 38-year-old Ostend man, left the car and attempted to sneak away through the wetland across the road. But he says, it is very hard to quietly move in a swamp and the officers heard the driver and found him easily. "We extracted him from the swamp, and he was sent to hospital."
Police are awaiting the results of blood tests before deciding on any charges the man will face.

That looks like a Bruce Mahalski (president of the Museum of Natural Mystery) - I'm sure he'd be happy to help. It seems a shame to exclude the mural!
