Artist, animator, pixels and programming- games focus, but I can make more or less anything! Free Palestine, LGBT rights, anti-AI.

Really wish I'd animated a rectangle with markers flipping first instead of one glamour frame and then winging it.

we have nothing left!! discord's selling your data to poorly secured third parties. The entirety of bsky staff has AI psychosis. twitter is ran by a fascist pedophile, tumblr is censorship happy, patreon disables your account of you breathe wrong, youtube's demonetization algo is inscrutable

shaking out slug pellets over garden. <repulsive taste for child safety> - or something on the packet. And I wasn't wondering before and I'm not hankering to eat poison but now I'm like what taste does that reference. Is it spicy.

For anyone wondering where that accessible fish game I was working on went, it's taking a back seat while I figure out Godot and port my progress there. Even ignoring the superior ethical footing (including being anti-ai contributions!) -the snappy boot/compile/run times made me audibly gasp.

hannibal cops for sure never solve anything- But they're humanised, funny, presented as good, positively motivated and invested in goodness? And the bad guy kills them? So I guess yes?

as well as a first stop for hirers, I could see this being a checklist vs applicants obtained on another platform or sort of recognised stamp.

I won't be at migw! I'm not really built for conferences/pub nights/picnics- doesn't help that there's some trauma around a couple of folks there from the old days (don't worry, not you) Hit me up after for a call or a hang! (not here- bsky locked me out of DM's because I won't give it my passport)

I sometimes play typeracer with my programming students when we get a moment that doesn't really fit in the lesson plan, or as an icebreaker at the start of the semester. Zoomers can't type on keyboards: 30-50 wpm is common. I used to clock 115, but in my 30s my comfortable speed is more like 95.

Now you get to check out the incredibly fucked up internet community it has.

Lotta 'Wacky Adjective Sport' games lately. If you're considering jumping on that bandwagon, please consider: Danger Lawnbowls Reverse Golf Athiest Football Croquet Without Remorse microgolf Safest Rugby Anti-capitalist Lacrosse Frisbee but with Spanking Shark-infested Basketball Baseball is Wrong

Every spring for the last 3 years I've gotten more sensitive to melb pollen season. The first I noticed was icepick headaches through sinus down into my teeth. So I would say yes? Like the onset of sawdust allergies for carpenters.

It's the 'you need more atoms than are in the universe to model a chess game' thing. Just a big problem because of the way every moving part multiplies the options.

@rexhausted.bsky.socialSep 17, 2026, 5:01 AM

I suspect new x-com gets around it (still takes a couple seconds) by having soldiers act one at a time and totally independently. I don't think they tend to team up strategically, just as a 'best choice in MY turn' way.

@rexhausted.bsky.socialSep 17, 2026, 5:01 AM

-then running the whole thing back and trying it again multiple times when you don't like the result you got (with characters capable of multiple actions) - there's no solution that doesn't require you to sort of grind it out. Civ etc would have dozens, maybe 100's of moving parts to consider.

@rexhausted.bsky.socialSep 17, 2026, 5:01 AM

My understanding is that pathfinding is straightforward- but pathfinding for four different motivations and attaching weights to these outcomes (cover, reward for attack etc) for multiple units that can't clash or stand on each other's toes,-
