@citrusbusters.bsky.social🍊 Can a citrus disease have a smell?
#CITRUSBUSTERS found distinct volatile compounds linked to Citrus Black Spot, including higher geraniol and nerol levels in diseased lemons. Could these chemical clues support earlier detection?
@citrusbusters.bsky.social🍊 HLB can hide in citrus trees for years. Could the microbiome help reveal it earlier?
#CITRUSBUSTERS AI models achieved 71–79% accuracy in distinguishing healthy from HLB-infected trees using microbial data.

@citrusbusters.bsky.social🍋 Nearly 1,000 citrus professionals heard about #CITRUSBUSTERS at ICBC in Florida.
Through our partner IFU, our research on HLB & Citrus Black Spot travelled beyond the lab, reaching the industry professionals.
@citrusbusters.bsky.social🍊 What does a citrus tree reveal when infected with HLB? More than we can see.
#CITRUSBUSTERS research shows distinct volatile and metabolic changes that could help identify early HLB biomarkers.
@citrusbusters.bsky.social🍊 Slovakia may not grow #citrus commercially, but citrus protection still matters to its food system.
#CITRUSBUSTERS is at #Agrokomplex2026 in Nitra, 2-6 Sept, connecting citrus research with resilient agriculture and food systems.
