So pleased I finally caught 'Australia's First Attractive Comedian' last night at Leicester Sq Theatre - and on its last outing. What a show! Elouise Eftos is an absolute fucking force of nature! 🎉💪💃🎤
It was so lovely of Imogen to invite me round to her garden to record our chat and it was super to speak to her!
THE ROCK - A Michael Bay film where Nicholas Cage is a chemical weapons expert, Sean Connery is a notorious convict and they both have to break into Alcatraz to stop Ed Harris exacting revenge on America. It shouldn't work but it weirdly does. It's bizarre and, I have to say, rather brilliant!
THE HOLDOVERS - I absolutely loved this film! Alexander Payne, director of 'Sideways', delivers a witty, smart, and deeply moving story. I love that it's shot in the style of a 60s movie (right down to the opening idents) as well. Giamatti, Randolph, and Sessa give incredible performances! (All4)
GET CARTER - A very stern Michael Caine seeks out revenge on the gang that killed his brother. Set in the proper nasty grime-and-grit of 1960s London, this film is relatively bleak but also tense and compelling viewing. Caine is brilliantly cold and there's a very young Alun Armstrong. (iPlayer)
REBECCA (1940) - This is a stunningly made adaptation by Hitchcock, full of suspense and unease, even if some of the dialogue is just a little dated. The cast are fantastic - Judith Anderson as Mrs. Danvers is haunting. A stylishly executed psychological drama!
Isolation Cinema viewings to end September and begin October.
He even has the vibrato!
My friends made a feature film and it was bloody amazing!!! Massive congrats to Richard Soames, Matthew Highton, Briony Redman & all involved! So funny, heartwarming and with entirely improvised dialogue that's better and more natural than any script could have been! Look out for LOST ON THE ROAD! 👏
Sorry, Duo, errm... What? Yes it's a 'previous mistake' because first time round I didn't think that was going to be the actual sentence.

I had a fabulous chat with Joz which took place at my flat on another extremely hot day.
Some sound advice here from the brilliant Bebe Cave!
I'm a big fan of Bebe's solo shows so it was lovely chatting to her just before Fringe and fascinating hearing about her thoughts and process. Enjoy!
Now this IS exciting! Come on down to RAMON FEAR LIVE at Cheerful Earful next month! 🤩🎉🎙👻
What scary sexiness is this? Why it's the promo image for our brand new Terror Tapes Live show which we are once again carting off to the inn-sane asylum that is the Bedford Pub in Balham for our third outing at @cheerfulearful.bsky.social!
MOTHERS INSTINCT - This is a pretty depressing number but if tragedy, obsession and deep-seated paranoia is your thing then give this psychological thriller a whirl. I will say, Anne Hathaway can play unhinged really well. (iPlayer)
PAPER MOON - What a gorgeous film! The most incredible dynamic between father and daughter Ryan and Tatum O'Neil as two total grifters. I can't believe this was Tatum's first film, she is unbelievably good. It's hilarious, exciting, touching and beautifully made. Highly recommend!
THE BIG SLEEP - Classic film noir I can finally tick off my watchlist. The exceptional Humphrey Bogart and the fantastically alluring Lauren Bacall. I don't really know what else to say about it, the whole atmos just enwraps you, even if you don't fully understand it, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
